Discover Snorkeling - all ages 

The Discover Snorkeling experience is available to all ages and has no pre-requisite experience. This is purely an experience program, led by a PADI professional, so no certification is issued upon completion. However, we do issue a certificate of recognition to participants. Discover Snorkeling details the correct selection, preparation and use of snorkeling equipment. Emphasis is placed on aquatic life observation and also on conservation issues. Safe surface snorkeling techniques are also detailed. This program can appeal to people across the board, for example children too young to dive, as a very strong basis for both kids and adults before undertaking scuba and also for anyone who simply loves to see underwater but has no desire or the inability to dive.

SASY Session (Supplied Air Snorkeling for Youths) - age 5 plus

Instead of snorkels, kids get to scuba the SASY way.  A SASY unit is a personal flotation device (PFD) with a scuba tank and regulator attached.  This way, kids float on the surface, but they are free to keep their heads underwater so they do not miss any of the action below.  Once you try SASY and complete the program, you will get your own SASY Participation card and a wall certificate.

Skin Diver Course - age 8 plus 

The Skin Diver course is available (with no pre-requisite certifications) to ages 8+ and as it is a complete course, will result in a full certification from PADI upon completion. Both academic and water sessions are involved and the course typically takes 2-3 days. Areas covered are equipment (beyond that of simple snorkeling gear, such as BCD, weights, SMB, etc), physiology, environment, problem management and safe practices. Water work includes entries/exits, equipment use, buoyancy, advanced snorkeling, breath-hold and free-diving techniques. Safety is strongly emphasised throughout the course. Completion of this course is an ideal extension to simple snorkeling, an excellent basis for future scuba diving or a perfect introduction to enjoying skin diving as a sport in itself.

Discover Scuba Diving - age 12 plus 

For those beginners who are unsure about taking the Open Water Course.  You will master basic concepts and scuba skills, and then it is off to an open water journey – up to 12 meters deep.  Your Discover Scuba Diving experience counts toward your Open Water Diver certification.

Scuba Diver Course - age 12 plus

For those short of time, PADI Scuba Diver Course is a subprogram of the PADI Open Water Dive program.  You will learn the fundamentals of scuba diving, including dive equipment and techniques.  You earn this rating by completing shallow water dives, knowledge development sessions and by making two open water dives.  With the PADI Scuba Certification you can dive under the direct supervision of a PADI Dive Master, Assistant Instructor, Instructor or high professional on your next vacation or dive trip.

PADI Open Water (Referral Course) - age 12 plus 

This course is the most widely recognized and respected rating in the world and one of the first steps within the PADI training program.  It consists of classroom sessions and confined water training under the supervision of a fully qualified diving instructor.  This will be followed by a further four open water dives where students will be required to perform all the skills that they have learnt in confined water.

We feel that there would not be enough time to take this course for one week on the boat so we would like to offer this course on a referral basis (unless you would like to book for over one week).  This means that the first part of the course can be taken in the UK locally with the remainder being completed in Elba.  You could take the course work in the UK with the confined water training and open water dives to be taken in Elba or take the course work and the confined water training in the UK and just the open water dives to be taken in Elba. 

Depending on how much of the course is completed in the UK, prices range from ₤100 to ₤150.

IT IS NOW A REQUIREMENT OF PADI THAT WHEN TAKING THIS COURSE, CLIENTS HAVE THEIR OWN MANUAL (IF BOUGHT ON THE BOAT ₤35) AND HAVE THEIR OWN DIVE TABLE (IF BOUGHT ON THE BOAT ₤15)

Adventure Diver Course - age 12 plus

PADI Adventure Diver consists of completing 3 adventure dives enabling you to feel more comfortable in the water and strengthening your underwater skills.  These 3 dives go towards your PADI Advanced certification, which are only two additional adventure dives.

IT IS NOW A REQUIREMENT OF PADI THAT WHEN TAKING THIS COURSE, CLIENTS HAVE THEIR OWN DIVE TABLE (IF BOUGHT ON THE BOAT - ₤15) AND IF CHOOSING THE MULTI-LEVEL DIVE THEY MUST HAVE THEIR OWN PADI WHEEL (IF BOUGHT ON THE BOAT - ₤40).

Advanced Open Water Course - age 12 plus

It consists of a selection of five dives with the two core dives being deep dive and navigation dive. Students may choose anything from a wreck dive, night dive etc. to further their diving experience.

Rescue Diver Course - age 12 plus 

The PADI Rescue Diver will expand your knowledge and experience beyond purely recreational level because you will learn to look beyond yourself and consider the safety and well-being of other divers.  Rescue Diver training will prepare you to prevent problems and, if necessary, manage dive emergencies.
