Tobago has a warm tropical climate tempered by trade winds. The average daytime temperature is 29°c (83°F), with maximums in the low to mid 30s. The early months of the year are dry and sunny, June to December is the wet season, but rain tends to fall in short sharp bursts, and most days have plenty of sunlight.

July to September is hurricane season.  However, Tobago lies south of the hurricane belt with the last hurricane, hurricane Flora, just brushing Tobago in 1963.   So, although not guaranteed, hurricanes are an unlikely event.

Water temperatures range from around 27°C in December to 29°C in July.  Advice would be to bring either a 3mm thick wetsuit or a shortie.
