The PADI Bubblemaker is the perfect way to introduce children as young as 8 years old to scuba diving. As well as taking their first breaths underwater, children are taught how to use scuba equipment specifically designed for youngsters. With children in mind, the maximum depth a child is taken to with the PADI Bubblemaker is 2m whilst being in the direct care and supervision of a fully qualified PADI professional. It’s simply fun, easy and safe!
For children as young as 10 years old and for adults who have never dived before but just want to “give it ago” rather than take a course, we have the PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience. During your DSD experience you learn how to breathe under water whilst learning what it feels like to be swimming with a scuba set attached to you. It is a perfect quick and easy introduction to what it takes to explore the underwater world. For many, it is the start of their diving education as you can learn some basic skills and safety rules that can be carried over to the full scuba certification course.
For those short on time but keen to become a certified diver there is the PADI Scuba Diver course or Junior Scuba Diver Course. This incorporates half of the full PADI Open Water course so only takes 2 days as opposed to 4 and involves a small amount of classroom and pool work on the first day followed by open water dives and further skills on the second. Completion of the course sees you issued with a license which allows you to dive down to a maximum depth of 12m with a diving professional and is recognised the world over.
If you’ve always wanted to learn how to scuba dive, discover a new adventure or simply find out what lies beneath the waves then the PADI Open Water Course is where it all starts! On this typically 4/5 day course you receive knowledge development to understand the basic principles of scuba diving as well as learn basic scuba skills in a pool or shallow beach, followed finally by open water dives to review your skills and explore! Completion of the course sees you issued with a license which allows you to dive down to a maximum depth of 12m (10-11yrs), 18m (12yrs+) and is recognised the world over. It is also the first step on a long ladder of PADI courses for those left thirsty for more!
Of all the diving destinations, Sharm stands out from the rest when it comes to people with or without children looking for a suitable resort to learn to dive in. The well established dive centres we work with in Sharm have vast amounts of experience of running PADI programmes in the Red Sea which offers the very best conditions to learn to dive in. With very little currents, incredible visibility and vast array of marine life, it really does provide unbeatable learn to dive conditions. Not only is it ideal for learning to dive but it also offers fabulous snorkeling locations for those family members perhaps not old enough to dive or are simply happier on the surface than down below, the bonus being that we can arrange for most diving trips to be incorporated with snorkelling trips allowing families to stay together.
